The Oregon Employment Department has given the Oregon Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance (PFMLI) program a new name, Paid Leave Oregon. Meanwhile, the department is working on the latest batch of rules for the program, which the Legislature established in 2019. Most employers and employees will begin to make payroll contributions early in 2023, as will their employees. What better time to learn about the program?
OBI is working with the employment department to schedule a series of instructional webinars. On Tuesday, July 19, experts with the Oregon Employment Department will discuss rules governing equivalent plans, which employers can offer as an alternative to participating in Paid Leave Oregon. The webinar will run from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
