After much consideration, OBI has postponed its annual meeting. Originally scheduled to take place Feb. 8, the meeting has been moved tentatively to June. It will still take place at the Salem Convention Center, and we will share details as soon as possible. We hope the delay will allow a greater number of members and guests to participate in person. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you in June!
In addition to a timely agenda that will cover key policy and political topics, OBI will honor this year’s jobs champion, Brad Hicks, the recently retired president and CEO of The Chamber of Medford and Jackson County, and include a reception where attendees can network with elected officials and fellow business leaders.

One element of the Feb. 8 agenda that has not been postponed is our panel discussion with legislative caucus leaders, who will talk about what’s on the table for the 2022 session. To allow for remote participation, the discussion will occur as a webinar. Our anticipated lineup includes Sen. Rob Wagner, D-Lake Oswego; Sen. Tim Knopp, R-Bend; Rep. Barbara Smith Warner, D-Portland; and Rep. Vikki Breese Iverson, R-Prineville. The webinar will take place from 4 – 5 p.m. Follow this link to register.
2022 Jobs Champion
OBI is proud to honor Brad Hicks with its 2022 Jobs Champion Award!
Hicks recently retired as president and CEO of The Chamber of Medford and Jackson County, where he spent decades working on behalf of employers in the region, supporting and helping them navigate regulatory issues, shifts in the region’s economy resulting from changing federal and state policies, recessions, natural disasters, and, of course, the global pandemic. Through it all, Hicks has been a tireless advocate for businesses of all sizes and from all industries.
